About Me

Ted enjoying some humor, visually.

Ted, the owner of this page, lives in The Dalles, OR.  He has been interested in visual humor for many years.  At first, it was cartoons and comics.  Lately, he has added other types of accidental humor, such as newspaper typos, odd photo placement and or captions.  Sometimes, just funny snippits from the local paper.  It is all visual, and it is all Humor.

I thanked Marti via email, and would like to add that she has a wicked blog, http://justoutsidetheboxcartoon.wordpress.com. Check it out.
Oh, and speaking of wicked humor, yes, I have heard of Michael Leunug, and have several of his books. Eventually I will get around to a post devoted to him.

Why the interest in Pat Bagley’s cartoons? Are you a Mormon?

    • visualhumor says:

      Hi Lynne,

No, not Mormon. I just like cartoons.
I was in Moab last year, and as usual when in a new area, visit the used bookstores. found the two Pat Bagley and one Calvin Grondahl books there.
I hope you enjoyed the cartoons and comments.

    Hi Ted,
Thanks for the reference page on Fusion Studios (in Washington state). While I don’t think you and I are related, Elizabeth Bryant is my 5th cousin 2 times removed. Hope to connect with her on this genealogical journey I’m on, and your 2012 post helps with that.
    Thanks, Jeff

    Hi Ted
My father has a couple of his sketches in Adelaide, Australia. If you would like to know more please feel free to contact us.
    Kind regards
    Sonya

      Hi Sonya,
I was lucky to spend a day or so in Adelaide in 2014. Could not find cartoon bookstores, but really did not have much time. I did enjoy the museum at the beach, if there is more than one, then please forgive my lack of knowledge of the area. I would be interested in knowing more about your father’s sketches. Are they of historic Adelaide, or current? Also, what prompted his interest?
I appreciate your reading my blog.
      Thank you for your comment.

Hi Ted , not sure if you can help me i am trying to track down a comic strip of the first appearance of snake i realise snake tales was originally titled old timers which was published on 25th april 74 i have ordered a copy from archives but wondering if you could help me locate the strip on where snake was introduced . It is for a xmas present for my partner who used to read snake tales with his father who is no longer in his life . This would mean so much if i cohld track it down

      Hi Kylie,
As much as I would like to help, I am afraid I have no editions from that time frame. I see that a wikipedia article about Alan Salisbury, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sols, states that sanke was intoruced in 1976. And from that article we have the interesting comment,

His strips are held by the Michigan State University Libraries in their collections

      I hope the formatting works…

I guess since he had a strip, Fingers and Toes, in the US, they decided to hold a collection of his strips.

All this is interesting, but does not really help you very much.

Sorry I can’t do a better job of helping out.

      Good luck in your search.

      Ted
